Tandragee 100 1998 125 race

TW Dynes Motorcycles opened in 1974 by  Billy Dynes
as a motorcycle repair business at first
He was drawing on his own experience as a successful
motocross competitor, having represented Ireland in
the Motocross Des Nations and competing at the highest
level here at home.
Soon the demand for Billy's work allowed him to expand
into sales of motorcycles and cycles. Right from the offset Billy's parents played a great part in his plans with Billy senior being a perfectionist with cycle repairs
After the first year Billy's wife Elaine joined him to take up the day to day running, as the recently acquired Yamaha franchise was playing an important role with the release of the highly acclaimed RD DT and XS series of machines.

Billy and Elaine's two sons, Gary and Evan, followed in their fathers footsteps and both became keen motorcyclists and successful motocross riders and it was at this point they switched to road racing. Evan as a young and upcoming racer was to retire after a few seasons due to injuries after serious accidents. Gary went onto become a multiple Irish champion of the sport
Sadly an accident in Glasslough, Monaghan was to claim his life, along with that of  fellow racer Andrew McClean, in August of 2000
Day to day running of the business is now taken care of by  Evan and his wife Karen.  Although there's hardly a day goes by that Billy wont be found in the shop......and never a day where Billy and Elaine's experience cannot be called upon
